After 14 days on land with some work done on the boat, oil change, grounding, polishing, checking of everything possible, we have now been on the water for a week and have it completely lovely. The boat is working fine, and we're knowing it a bit more every day passing. We have been to Vathi Methana, and anchoring in Cape Sounion - Temple of Poseidon. After little wind the first 2 days (and very warm), we hade a nice sailing to a bay south on Megalonisos.
We continued northwards on the west side of Evia and came to Chalkida City, where we had to wait for bridge opening. It was suppose to open at midnight, but it was close to 1 am before we went through. It was a new experience and we went on during the night , were Monica had the first watch (also new). Kai took over around 4 am after not much sleep, because Monica "made so much noice" 😉.
Almost no wind this day also, but on Wednesday we got nice windsurfing, suddenly more than expected (at least for Monica), 15 ms and it was also lightning and thunder. We managed that also, but it was nice to go into the harbour in Orei at Evia. Here it was after a while a lot happening because some boats had trouble with anchoring and ropes, we were well tied up, but we helped others with both fenders and long ropes, and the captain of one of the charter boats brought wine to us as thanks for helping 😀. So then we had a glass of wine with Vladimir from Bulgaria before bedtime at 2.15 am.
This morning we heard about the violent weather that had been north of Halkidiki, here in Orei we had a lot of wind and rain tonight, but nothing dramatic. We are staying here today, because the weather is still a bit unstabel further north-east.
