Update October 2nd
On our way west from Kos towards the Cyclades, we ended up at 13 hours and 72 nm before anchoring in a bay, Kalotaritissa, on Amorgós.
The next day we continued with little wind at first, but eventually a nice sailing to Plati Gialos on Sifnos. It was a new long day, 50 nm and 11 hours.
The wind was expecting to be quite strong, so we tied up strong in the harbor. Before the "worst" wind was expected (2 days later) we rented a car and saw the island, an island with beautiful, shallow bathing beaches and 365 !! churches, chapels and monasteries 😀.
We didn't sleep much (at least I didn't) when the wind started, there was heavy gusts over the mountains and down into the harbour, so it jerked and nipped in the moorings, and I certainly didn't like the sounds - sounded like something could tear, which of course it would not do, but it squeaked and nipped in the boat. We stayed at Sifnos for 5 days before sailing on.
We have heard for a while, and felt that there are vibrations from the propeller. But we didn't know what it might be, so Kai Robert wanted a Volvo Penta dealer to have it checked. We then had to go to the mainland and to a marina where we could get the boat on land. It was a new long day sailing with little wind, but we slowly made our way north and after another 50 nm and 16.5 hours we anchored just before midnight in Ák Poundazeza. The next morning we motored around the headland and to the Olympic Marina where we had an appointment with the dealer. It was agreed to lift the boat ashore the next day and disassemble the propeller and shaft and send for testing. It turned out that the hub on the propeller were unbalanced and a new part had to be ordered, which took several days. Not OK to sit in a boat on land, so we rented a car and explored more of the Greek mainland 😀. Parts of the car tour are described in separate posts on Facebook.
Now we have had the boat on land for 5 days, but the part has now arrived and then we will be back on water again.
It will be good !! 😀😎
